L says:

Over the years, my home decorating style has evolved from a strictly neutral palette (cream, black and khaki – classic to be sure, but also pretty boring) to one with more and more colors (a little green here, some turquoise there). Over the last year, I’ve added a few red and pink accents to my home. Here, my two faves.

Red Jenny Lind Bed
inspired by this Land of Nod catalog photo, i painted joe jr’s Jenny Lind bed from Target red. bed no longer available.
Robert Abbey Gourd Lamp
this robert abbey gourd lamp sits in my living room next to a stack of books.

And now, a few things on my To Buy list. Joe, stop reading.

For Like Ever
i’ve wanted this poster for…like…ever. buying it!
Red Metal Chairs
wouldn’t these be perfect on your patio for this summer? they’re on SALE.
West Elm SMEG Refrigerator
west elm smeg refrigerator. just, love.
Fucshia Chevon Rug
this land of nod fuchsia chevron rug would be amazing in a neutral kitchen OR funky office.

get organized: nail polish.

Happy Tuesday, glitter girls!

“Get organized” is no doubt on your list of New Year’s resolutions. Ours, too. We decided to start small, tackling our nail polish collections.

We 1) have a LOT of nail polish, and 2) use it every day. The bottles are so pretty that we hate to hide them, and we definitely need easy access since painting our nails is a nightly occurrence. This is what we WISH our collections looked like:

Essie Nail Polish Shelf
heaven.

Here are some other, easy ideas to organize your own.

Nail Polish Lazy Susan
spin the wheel! use a lazy susan to keep polish upright.
Nail Polish Caddy
place neatly in acrylic drawers with your tools.
Nail Polish Vase
store all your bottles in a pretty vase.

What we decided on:

Nail Polish Tray
J’s keeping her polish collection on a pretty tray in her living room.
Nail Polish Vase
L went the vase route, using a Kate Spade rose bowl to top a stack of design books.
