GOODNESS, you guys. I know I begin every post this way…but we have had a LOT going on. It’s hard for a girl to find the time to post! On top of our usual work and family commitments, Jennifer and I spent last weekend in Atlanta, buying fall inventory for Sole and Dish, taste-testing tacos and perfecting our frose recipe. Here’s a look at the styles and products we’ve been loving lately…
Next morning we headed to AmericasMart to buy some fall pretties for my boutiques Sole and Dish. In honor of National Rose Day (I told you, it’s a real thing), I schlepped all my stuff in this Old Navy tote. Oh, and now it’s on sale for $8. You’ll spend more on your bottle of rose!
Great minds think alike…we both bought these fun sleep shorts and wore them Saturday night. UNPLANNED. I went preppy with pink with green leopards, and Jennifer stuck with her siganture palm print. Both prints are still available in all sizes.
Same day, a few hours south…Joe and I were at brunch (read the post here). Joe’s AFTCO shorts are from my friend Whitney’s boutique Wrens. He has these in several colors – they hold up great and I love the length. You can call Wrens at 478-268-4728 to order, or click here to order directly from AFTCO. Joe has been wearing classic New Balance sneakers since he could walk – they are the best sneakers you’ll ever buy. I have saved every pair for Ed. As hard as Joe plays, he always outgrows his before they wear out. They come in infant sizes as well. Solid purchase!
Fast forward to Easter weekend…(because apparently we wore nothing interesting during the week!)…
Jennifer and Jay spent James’ first Easter at Reynolds Plantation. Jennifer’s white dress is sold out, but this one is super similar.
My husband and I (along with some MAJOR help from my in-laws and some very good friends!) hosted our annual egg hunt on Saturday. We started when Joe Jr. was just 6 months old, and it’s hard to believe that this was our seventh one! It seems to get bigger every year – this year we had 70 adults and 60 kids. That’s a lot of mimosas and pimiento cheese sandwhiches, yall. You can shop Ed’s Minnetonka moccasins at Sole, or you can shop them on Zappos here.
An Easter miracle happened in the Lanier family on Sunday morning. We actually got out of the house – fully clothed, with no yelling and no tears – and made it to church in time to take a photo. I got tons of compliments on my drop-waist dress, and little Joe was looking especially dapper in his bow tie from my friend Ryan’s store Bellies, Babies and Ballerinas (you can follow them on Instagram and comment to purchase!).
You guys know we heart Target – it’s great style at great prices, areweright? Both of us own this Target sequined-collar plaid button-down from two years ago, and we’re bringing it back this season. And since we have Target on the brain, we linked our top picks from Target for fall over on Shop Style. Click this link to shop, or like our photo on Instagram (@glitter_blog_xo) today and you’ll get a shoppable email sent to your inbox. And check out our other posts featuring Target items here and here and here.
J and three sweet friends threw the most amazing baby shower for Baby Ed and me at Forest Heights Country Club in Statesboro. You may have seen a few pics on Instagram. These are a few more of our favorites! We’ll start from the beginning…
I was so glad my mom was able to make the trip. We all missed my mother-in-law, who was (smartly) cruising in cooler temps.
My favorite surprise of the day was…a FLOWER CROWN! I have never been so excited (or so glad that I didn’t do my hair in a top-knot). I had a really hard time taking it off at the end of the day brunch.
Everyone who knows me knows I live for brunch. I was so happy to see quiche and mini-pancakes on the menu!
Jennifer brought cupcakes from the Atlanta outpost of Georgetown Cupcake. I am obsessed with peanut butter, so she set aside one of those just for me. #truefriend The “E” flags are from Etsy.
I had the cutest little helpers opening gifts: Joe and his BBFL Leo.
Kate arranged these simple and cute rock candy favors. Joe was fascinated with these…and then he really flipped when he realized it was actual CANDY.
Each hostess received a small succulent in mercury glass from Colonial House.
Post-shower, Joe and I hung out in Ed’s new nursery. He told me “Mom, that was a GREAT PARTY.”…and I totally agree. I was overwhelmed at how beautiful everything was, and how these four friends nailed all of my favorite things. Baby Ed and I are so lucky to have four such incredible women in our lives.
Happy Friday! This weekend, J’s doing a trial run for wedding hair and makeup (EEEK!) and L’s working in the retail game, but we’re both going to make time to watch a little of the Masters and sip an Azalea Cocktail. In the meantime, take a few minutes to check out these links to stuff we love.
