Ray-Ban

black + white ๐Ÿ–ค

Over the past few years, a black, leather moto jacket has always been on my shopping list and I never pulled the trigger… until now!

This Blank NYC beauty is perfection (and under $100…) The gold hardware is probably what sold me. Why is that so hard to find? I digress.

The jacket goes with everything. Dress it up with a skirt and heels or down with distressed denim and sneaks. Scoop your very own before it sells out and scroll to the bottom to shop the whole look!

viva las vegas.

It’s no secret that we love a good getaway to Vegas {you can see our past trips here and here.}

Our travels out west include work and play while shopping for L’s boutiques Sole + Dish. With such a packed schedule on short trips, we’ve become experts in transitioning our outfits from day to night. Needless to say when Juliana from Vegas.com challenged us to create the #UltimateVegasOutfit, we accepted. Let’s set the scene for a day in Vegas:

Bonjour: Well, good morning! Time to fuel up for the day at one of the best breakfast | brunch spots on the strip, Mon Ami Gabi. From there, hit the Grand Canal Shoppes at The Venetian for a little retail therapy and maybe a gondola ride! Need a pick me up after shopping? (and that means a cocktail) Skip over to Sugar Factory for a “grown-up drink“.

Vegas.com Challenge
Bonjour: romper | fedora | flats | cross-body bag | aviatorsย ย ย ย ย  Bonne Nuit: romper | belt | heels | clutch | earrings

Bonne Nuit: Let’s take on the night. After a quick change at our home away from home, Hard Rock Hotel, we waste no time and head to dinner downstairs at our favorite, Pink Taco. Keep in mind happy hour is from 3-7PM! Post-dinner drinks at The Chandelier Bar in The Cosmopolitan are a must then maybe a little blackjack in the casino. #winning

J: HAPPY FRIDAY! I’m prepping myself for a weekend envelope stuffing sesh… my wedding invitations are in! They’re beautiful. Totally perfect. Just wait…

With the big day only 84 days away, I’ve been spending an ungodly amount of time on Pinterest for last minute ideas. I’ve also accumulated a must have list along the way. Here are the Top 5:

1. James Read | Try Me Kit: I’ve heard nothing but amazing things about James Read sunless tanning products. Time to give them a go. Lord knows we need some color right now… #Casper

friday five: weekend warrior.

Yay for the weekend! L and the Joes are headed to Greenville, South Carolina, this weekend for a mini family vacay. Today’s Friday Five is dedicated to weekend warriors everywhere.

1. Packing List. No matter where you’re going, it pays to plan your outfits ahead of time. We’re big believers in packing light – it’s no fun to lug around a bag of clothes that you end up not even wearing. For a weekend away, you really just need a few things: a great pair of skinnies, a couple of tops (one dressy, one casual), flats (unless you have a big nighttime event, leave your heels at home) and medium size bag in a bright color. Here’s L’s packing list for Greenville:

The Glitter Life How To Pack
bright bag (tory burch) // cardigan // skinnies (7 for all mankind) // rain boots (hunter) // sunglasses (ray ban) // tank (eight sixty, available here) // striped tee / /flats (available here)

2. Homemade Snacks.ย  It’s so much healthier (and cheaper) to make your own snacks rather than relying on the offerings at some nasty gas station. You can whip up your very own trail mix in a matter of minutes! Make a big batch and package it in small portions for the trip. Use this recipe from Taste of Home for inspiration.

3. Travel Mask: Long road trips can leave your skin looking super tired. Wake it back up with the Travelmate Mask by When. This high-quality Essence Gel Mask uses a bio-cellulose sheet created by fermenting coconut juice, each containing a high volume of fluid that is very effective in transferring the liquid nutrients to skin. We also recommend When’s 10:00PM mask for anti-aging…

4. Weekender Bag: Kate Spade Saturday is the latest and greatest from the Kate Spade New York family.ย  KSS believes that “getting dressed should be a lot of fun” and we couldn’t agree more. We were really intrigued by Saturday’s “Design a Weekender” program where you build your own travel bag. SO FUN! You really can’t go wrong there.

BONUS: it’s loaded with pockets and compartments to organize all of your traveling goods.

5. A Good Book: Atlanta girl, Emily Giffin (you may recognize her name from other amazing books such as Something Borrowed and Something Blue…) has done it again with her latest novel Where We Belong. If you can’t read in the car, it’s also available on audio! We won’t spoil it by giving details, but trust it’s a must read.

eye candy.

eye candy.
Winter. Spring. Summer. Fall. Doesn’t matter. Your eyes need shade all year long! Not sure what shape flatters your face? Read on for our tips:

1. Square Face: To minimize the sharp angles on your face, go for frames with curves that will add softness to your face. Recommended styles: Cat-eye, oval and round.

2. Round Face: Opt for sunglasses with frames wider than or equal to the broadest part of your face. You can do rectangular, square or angular styles. Sunglasses with brow bars also work for you! Recommended styles: Broad square, angular or rectangular.

3. Diamond Face: You can wear softly curved angular frames or oval rames. Avoid wearing frames that are wider than the upper part of your cheek bones. Recommended styles: Rimless, oval or angular.

4. Oval Face: An oval face has a chin that is comparatively narrower than the forehead. The cheek bones are also high. The good news is that most frames suit the shape of your face. Try wearing lots of geometric shapes that will add sharpness to the soft curves of your face. Recommended styles: Rectangular, square.

5. Heart Face: You could try frames with low-set temples in order to take the attention off the upper part of your face. You could also pick narrow circular frames which will add a few curves to your forehead. Frames that are heavy at the bottom are also ideal for your face shape because they add width to the lower area of your face. Recommended styles: Circular, cat eyes.

6. Oblong Face: Choose sunglasses with frames no wider than the widest part of your face. Decorative temples are meant for you–they provide your face with needed width. Recommended styles: Round, square and frames with short horizontal and long vertical lines.

in my bag part 2.

Alright, ladies… Now that you’ve seen what’s in Laura’s bag, here’s a peek into mine:

just a few things…

1. Tory Burch Robinson Satchel: I absolutely adore this bag. The color is perfect. The size is perfect. No complaints. I’ve had her for almost and year and you can barely tell! I’m hard on my bags, y’all…

2. Kate Spade Lacey Wallet: This actually sat in my closet for a while until I purchased the Robinson Satchel. The gold compliments the cognac color perfectly!

3. Missoni for Target notepad: I’m sure most of you are familiar with the craze that was Missoni for Target. I was lucky to scoop these super cute notepads and a few other things! Let’s face it, I always have something to jot down.

4. Narciso Rodriguez for her eau de toilette: I’m pretty picky when it comes to perfume! Narciso Rodriguez has been a staple in my bag for a while. I love that it’s perfect for day or night and lasts most of the day!

5. Buxom Lip Polish: The color (Sandy) is perfect and it gives a nice plumping effect! It lasts a while which is also a plus…

6. Other random products: Colgate Pro Clinical: I HAVE to brush my teeth throughout the day. A little obsessive about it. Hand Sanitizer: A little obsessive about this too… Hair ties: So much cuter than your run-of-the-mill elastics! Ray-Ban Aviators: As L said, you just CAN’T beat this classic style! Very Top Gun. RIP Tom-Kat. Earbuds for the gym, business cards, mints…

the real deal.

SO, we must know… What’s in YOUR bag?
