oh, baby ๐Ÿผ

J: HI GUYS! Long time. Let’s catch up.

We blinked and Baby James is almost 4 months old! He’s the sweetest, happiest little boy (see instagram.)

I was thinking the other day about when I was pregnant and how I would comb pinterest and blogs looking for must-have items for baby. Now that James has arrived, I feel I have recommendations of my own to share! I’m a mom. It’s wild.

the goods.

Diapering

We alternate between honest diapers and pampers swaddlers. They both work great for us, but honest diapers aren’t available on amazon. If you don’t have a prime membership, get on that.

Honest wipes are the only way to go. Buy them in bulk at Target.

Bath

Okay. Our bathtub. Kind of obsessed with it. The Aquascale 3 in 1 tub tells you the temp of your water before you put baby in, works for infants and toddlers, and the best feature… it has a built in scale. It may sound silly, but we love weighing him at bath time and tracking his growth!

Mustela products are by far the best. I keep their face wipes with me at all times for a quick spit up clean up. The foam shampoo is amazing (and great for clearing up cradle cap!) Just started using the hydra stick for forehead flakes. Game changer.

Bedtime

Swaddles. There are a million available and we bought most of them. WITH THAT, Halo Sleepsack Swaddles win the game. Period. We also used Swaddle Me swaddles prior to discovering Halo and they were good!

Toys

The ever so popular Sophie la Giraffe is loved in our house! James is also into O-Balls and the Noggin Stick.

Misc.

Out of everything, the one item I constantly recommend (especially to boy moms!) is the Keekaroo Peanut Changing Pad. No. Covers. To. Wash.

Some will say a wipe warmer isn’t worth purchasing, but I disagree. We love our Prince Lionheart Wipe Warmer! Be sure to buy the replacement pillows to keep the wipes fresh.

Trust me. You will have to change a dirty diaper on the go and need a place to put it. I keep Sassy Bags in the car and in my purse aka diaper bag. Must. Have.

I know what you’re wondering. Where are the CLOTHES? That deserves its own post. I’m obsessed with dressing this child. STAY TUNED. X0

J: With Baby James’ arrival fast approaching, Jay and I decided to skip town for a little baby-moon. That’s a thing, right?

Not a tall order: something within driving distance from Atlanta, somewhere we’ve never been with a spa (ME) and golf (Jay.) We did our research and decided on… Waterfall Club | Lake Burton. A resort with everything we wanted and a backdrop like no other. You would never think you were less than 2 hours outside the city. A little look into our weekend:

Waterfall View
this. view.
Waterfall Wedding
stumbled across this wedding spot on my walk. quite the backdrop to say i do!
Waterfall Lunch
just a small lunch at the club… we stayed on property which was adorable and convenient.
Waterfall Brunch
our cozy Easter brunch.

J: Hi. Busy life happening over here. We’ve missed you. Let’s catch up, shall we?

As you know, Jay and I are expecting a little boy in May and we are officially in FULL nursery planning/baby shopping mode. We will do a nursery reveal once we have the furniture installed, but here are a few items I’ve scooped so far:

Curtains: Had. To. Have. These. They’re pretty perfect for basically any room in your home.

Pottery Barn Pom Drapes

Accent Table: A table very similar to this was one of the first purchases I made for the nursery to go next to the glider. Super cute. Great price. Target wins AGAIN.

Target Table

Animal Heads: I obsessed over finding wall decor for the nursery that wasn’t cheesy. Really difficult task. BEHOLD the most precious white animal heads we came across at Z Gallerie and purchased on the spot.

And now for a few pregnancy must haves…

  1. My girlfriend, Annie turned me on to Mama Mio products and they are nothing short of amazing.
  2. This top. In every color. Perfect for the layering I’ve been doing in the chilly weather. Perfect fit. Super soft.
  3. Still sporting heels on the daily, but these slippers are sweet relief when I get home. And in gold. Naturally.

Promise we won’t stay gone long this time! We have Super Bowl Sunday and Valentine’s Day on the horizon after all!
