shift to neutral.

HAPPY JULY!

If you’re like us, you really put on the color during spring and summer months. Let’s face it, we live in neutrals the rest of the year (ask L about her black v-neck sweater…)

With all of this color being worn we need a solid, natural manicure to avoid clashing (the horror.) Here are some nude hues we’re feeling:

OPI Do You Take Lei Away?

Neutral

top of the list for good reason. the perfect nude polish.

Sally Hansen Lush

.

a nude hue with a velvety finish.

Essie Jazz

neutral 3

#jazzhands

Zoya Kennedy

neutral 4

full coverage with 2 coats. perfection.

What polish are you wearing this summer?

february ’14 birchbox.

This month, Birchbox teamed up with Us Weekly to get us red-carpet ready. After all, the Oscars are right around the corner…

Bain De Terre Color Preserving Shampoo | Conditioner: Look. We all want our hair color to last as long as possible. And that’s exactly what Bain De Terre says they’re doing. I will report back after a few uses, but so far just the smell and lather are making me a believer.

Caudalie S.O.S Morning Eye Rescue: Huge Caudalie fan. Huge. Every product I’ve ever tried has been amazing. This eye rescue is nothing short of that. Smooth, lightweight, and morning puffiness = gone.

OPI Sheer Tint Top Coat: It’s no secret that L and I are obsessed with painting our nails. With that said, I don’t understand this polish. Why would you want a translucent yet colored top coat? I’m probably missing something, so please fill me in.

Harney & Sons Tea Sachet: I *always* have a tea bag or two in my desk for a mid-day pick me up. These are perfect, delicious, and pretty…

get organized: nail polish.

Happy Tuesday, glitter girls!

“Get organized” is no doubt on your list of New Year’s resolutions. Ours, too. We decided to start small, tackling our nail polish collections.

We 1) have a LOT of nail polish, and 2) use it every day. The bottles are so pretty that we hate to hide them, and we definitely need easy access since painting our nails is a nightly occurrence. This is what we WISH our collections looked like:

Essie Nail Polish Shelf

heaven.

Here are some other, easy ideas to organize your own.

Nail Polish Lazy Susan

spin the wheel! use a lazy susan to keep polish upright.

Nail Polish Caddy

place neatly in acrylic drawers with your tools.

Nail Polish Vase

store all your bottles in a pretty vase.

What we decided on:

Nail Polish Tray

J’s keeping her polish collection on a pretty tray in her living room.

Nail Polish Vase

L went the vase route, using a Kate Spade rose bowl to top a stack of design books.
