New Years Eve

New year, new outfits.

You guysssss…

We hope you had a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year’s! We definitely did – not only did all of our boys have a large time (tools and 4-wheelers ruled this year), but my Georgia Bulldogs are GOING TO THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP! 2018 is going to be epic. I just have this feeling.

Here are a few of my favorite outfits from the last few weeks…

Bernardo Coat
i would have DIED this winter without this coat.

South Georgia has had an unseasonably cold winter – in fact, it’s actually SNOWING here today (more about that later). This hooded Bernardo puffer coat saved my life – it’s super lightweight and packable but also *somehow* manages to keep me very, very warm. This exact coat is sold out, but I’ve linked a ton of super-similar options by the same brand, as well as my black Spanx denim leggings and this cute J Crew Factory blanket scarf (psssttt…it’s now 60% off with promo code CHILLY).

Bow Tie Look
festive Christmas Eve outfits for the oldest and me.

I hestitate to refer to the bow-tie “trend’ because to me this is a classic style and not at all trendy…but Gucci did them this year so they’re on everyone’s radar now. Sole Statesboro has a great dupe for the Gucci version (which I wore Christmas Eve, above!), andhere are lots of similar styles available at lower price points. I paired my grosgrain bow-tie with this turtleneck sweater and skater skirt (both from Sole) and added the same Spanx tights and super-comfy Toms booties I’ve been wearing all winter. And yes, I dress my boys in knee socks, and NO they don’t complain…yet.

All Black + Touch of Silver
ready for NYE!

Now that the holidays are over, an all-black outfit kinda fits my mood. I especially love it with just a touch of silver, like this cute crossbody bag.  My BCBGeneration vegan leather skirt (seen here paired with the same turtleneck, tights and booties as above!) is not yet available online, but I linked a ton of similar options in a variety of lengths, sizes and prices.

Joe Snow Angel
yes, this really happened in Statesboro!

Meanwhile, we’re in the midst of a legit winter storm…check out our Insta stories for more pics! Stay safe and warm!

classic champagne cocktail.

Happy New Year’s Eve, glitter girls!

No matter what your NYE plans entail (black tie event, oyster roast, just hanging at the house), you can work a classic champagne cocktail in there somewhere. Maybe it’s your pre-game drink; maybe it’s what you toast at midnight. Either way, here’s how to dress up a basic bottle of bubbly.

Champagne Cocktail
sparkly stirrer required.
Champagne Cocktail
recipe and photos courtesy of one of our fave websites, The Glitter Guide.

Ingredients:

  • Chilled champagne
  • Sugar cubes
  • Lemon peels
  • Angostura bitters

Method:

Place one sugar cube in the bottom of each champagne glass and top with chilled champagne. Add 3-5 dashes of bitters (depending on your taste–take it easy the first time) and garnish with a lemon peel. Insert sparkly stirrer and enjoy!

Working on NYE? Need a little something for your co-workers? A party favor for tonight? Try this with a champagne split/paper straw/ribbon!
