friday five | loves.

YAY for the weekend. It’s actually sunny today – we’re crossing our fingers this lasts for a few days. Here’s what we’re loving right now!

1. Nude Lip. After a winter of bright red lips, we’re really feeling this pared down nude lip. Now, if we can just get a tan…

2. Homemade Pizza. L and Joe made this delicious Spinach Artichoke Pizza (sans artichokes – forgot them at the store!) this week, and it’s probably making a reappearance on Sunday night. It’s super easy, and we love the combination of flavors. Even Baby Joe gobbled it up.

3. Mimosa caddy. Making mimosa caddies is tops on our spring to-do list because we love champagne, we love pink, and we love DIY. And just because.

4. ASOS Floral Midi Skirt. J’s wearing this adorable floral midi to brunch in NYC during her bach party. Stay tuned for details!

5. Good read. We love this article about finding your style when you hit 30.

J and L reunite at Mount Vintage this weekend for J’s bridal shower – hope you guys get to spend the weekend with good friends, too!

blood orange mimosa.

This weekend J came across a fun twist on the traditional mimosa: blood orange mimosas. Impress your weekend brunch guests with this treat!
The Glitter Life Mimosa
lime garnish optional.
Ingredients:
  • 1 bottle Prosecco
  • 1 1/2 cups fresh blood orange juice (if your grocery doesn’t carry fresh blood orange juice, try Trop50’s alternative!)
  • 1 tablespoon super-fine granulated sugar (skip this step if you don’t like super sweet drinks (we did). your mimosas will still be delicious!)
  • 2 tablespoons orange liqueur (recommended: Grand Marnier)
Directions:
  • Chill bottle of Prosecco.
  • Combine fresh blood orange juice with sugar and orange liqueur in a large measuring cup and stir to combine.
  • Cover mixture and refrigerate until chilled.
  • To serve, pour into the bottom of Champagne glasses and slowly top-off with ice-cold Prosecco.

weekend wrap-up + glitter girl: reagan daly.

Happy Monday, glitter girls!

J and I had a busy weekend prepping for our trip to Vegas for the MAGIC tradeshow on Tuesday. In addition to our weekend wrap-up, we thought we’d start the week off with our first Glitter Girl feature. First, a few pics from the weekend.

Weekend Collage1
homemade turkey sausage and egg sandwiches // not happy about the rain on saturday // mimosas made it better // snatched this coral pillow from target
Weekend collage
comedy club date night // valentine’s day goodies // romes got cozy // updated my white denim for VEGAS

Now, for our very first Glitter Girl.

Once a week-ish, we plan to highlight one of our favorite friends/readers/fellow Glitter Girls with a pic and a brief questionnaire. We’ll feature girls who are living in interesting places (from Atlanta to Alaska) and doing interesting things (from stylish stay-at-home moms to corporate ladder-climbers). We hope you enjoy getting to know The Glitter Life community!

Reagan Daly is the advertising manager of Savannah Media, LLC, which houses Connect Savannah and the Savannah Pennysaver. Reagan is a loyal Social and Dish shopper and we absolutely love her style. She is also the wife of a fabulous man (her words!) and mom to an amazing six year old son.

1. What item or accessory do you wear the most?  My liquid metal Sergio Gutierrez bracelet. Love it!

2. What are your three favorite stores (for ANYTHING, online or bricks-and-mortar)?  Social & Dish in Statesboro, Georgia (told you!) and Taz in Pawleys Island, South Carolina.

3. Fill in the blank. You would die if anyone followed me on Twitter.  (I’m not a big Tweeter.)

4. Your last meal. What is it?  Club Sandwich with EXTRA mayo. Yum!

5. What’s your guilty pleasure?  Playing the 80’s throwback (90’s comeback) channel on Pandora extra loud and dancing around my house.

Hope everyone had a fantastic weekend! We’ll share our packing strategy for a whirlwind 30-hour trip to Vegas tomorrow.

friday five.

Happy Friday, glitter girls!

We’ve had a crazy-busy week. Down in Statesboro, L finally launched the new website for her stores Social and Dish. Up in Atlanta, one of J’s restaurants was the filming location for the upcoming Anna Nicole Smith biopic on Lifetime. As our friend Mags says, “It’s an inspiring story.”

On that note, let’s get the weekend started! Here’s your Friday Five.

1. Nails. J and I are going goth this weekend. Halloween is almost here, we’re feeling spooky, and sometimes a nude nail just doesn’t cut it. Try Chanel Black Satin or Essie Blacks.

Black Nails
simple and sophisticated.

2. Saturday Skinnies. Dark-wash skinnies are fine for Fridays, but Saturday night calls for something more special. These reptile print skinnies from L’s new website are super comfy, with just the right amount of stretch. Pair them with a black or jewel-tone slouchy sweater and nude heels. Sssssssssexy.

3. Sophisticated Comfort Food. Gah, how good does this pumpkin mac and cheese look?! L whipped up this recipe last night and wished she was able to send J a smell-o-gram. That. Good.

4. Georgia-Florida Game. Those you in the south are familiar with the annual University of Georgia v. University of Florida match-up, also known as “The World’s Largest Cocktail Party.” Neither of us is going to Jacksonville, but we’re definitely going to watch these two top teams duke it out on TV. No matter what game you’re watching on Saturday, be sure to make your tailgate nice and pretty with our tailgate tips.

UGA Girls
How adorbs is our friend Joelle (left) showing her UGA school spirit!?

5. Brunch. Now that it’s getting cooler (finally), we can actually handle eating outside. What sounds better than a lazy Sunday brunch al fresco? Check out Daily Candy‘s handy list of the best brunch spots in Atlanta. Live in a different zip-code? Try blogger Katherine Martinelli’s fantastic recipe for Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict and cook up your own feast at home.

Biscuits Bendedict
park’s edge (inman park) has $11 bottomless mimosas on saturdays and sundays. uh, sold.

What are y’all up to this weekend?
