Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

St Patrick's Day Outfit
i actually wore this last night…and again today. that’s okay, right?

Speaking of tonight, Jennifer, Jay and baby James are on their way to Statesboro as we speak. We’re all excited for the Schenkel Invitational Golf Tournament this weekend, which is happening right next door. We’ll be taking pics (hopefully less grainy than the above – the photo struggle is real!), so follow us on Insta to get in on the fun. Happy Friday, and try not to get pinched!

Our weekend was one for the books. L and the Joes were on the go all weekend, working, playing, cooking up a birthday dinner for L’s mom…and working some more Sunday night.  J and Jay traveled to tiny Alma, Georgia for the annual Blueberry Golf Tournament…and Jay WON! Winning = glitterous.

friday five: try something new.

HAPPY FRIDAY! It finally feels like spring here in Georgia. We’re in the mood to try something new this weekend! Oh, you too? May we suggest…

1. Golf. We know what you’re thinking. Golf is a slow game played by old men, right? WRONG. Golf can be super exciting (in what other sport can a 14 year old and a 53 year old be competitive with each other?!), and there’s definitely some eye candy on the course. Just look at Luke Donald, Bubba Watson and Keegan Bradley. If you’ve never been a fan, break into golf by watching The Masters live here. We swear you’ll love it.

2. Farmers Market. Sick of the usual Saturday afternoon Kroger trip? Switch it up and try your local farmers market for FRESH and locally grown fruit, veggies and flowers. April is the best time to go: read our tips here.

3. Fresh Flowers. Speaking of fresh flowers, celebrate spring with a fun, homemade floral arrangement. This site offers lots of inspiration. Whatever you do, make it fresh and make it fun. We love these painted mason jars.

4. Self-Tan. It’s finally warm…so show some skin this weekend! Don’t be scared. Scoop a can of L’Oreal Sublime  and go to town. You’ll be glad you did. We love this fool-proof spray.

friday five.

Y’all. It has been the longest week ever. Here’s what’s on our agenda for the weekend:

1. Reynolds Plantation: It might officially be fall, but it is still *hot* in Georgia. There’s nothing I love more than a weekend getaway to Lake Oconee. It’s an hour ‘s drive from Atlanta–totally worth it.

reynolds
Jay is playing in the club championship tournament this weekend. you can’t beat riding along in the cart with this view.
pool
my downtime will be spent at the pool.

2. Fresh Fall Salads: We’re all about whipping up a new salad. Here are some fall recipes that look super delicious (and easy. love that).

this Roasted Butternut Squash Salad with Warm Cider Vinaigrette is amazing. total crowd pleaser.
salad 2
how pretty is this Ruby Salad with Crumbled Feta and Spicy Pepitas!? it’s the *perfect* side for a fall dinner party.

3. Tee It Up: This time, we’re not talking golf. Ditch your LBD and opt for a casual t-shirt paired with a fancy skirt this weekend.

t-shirt look
AND with bright heel. obsessed.

4. Matte Nails: As always, we gotta have new nails for the weekend. We were unsure about matte nails at first, but now we’re in love. Check it:

Essie makes it super easy to dull down your polish.
*obsessed* with the shiny/matte mix.
switch it up with a reverse french mani.

5. Football: Both of our teams play at home this weekend! L and the Joes will be cheering on the Georgia Southern Eagles in Statesboro, and the University of Georgia Bulldogs take on Vanderbilt in Athens at 7:45pm. No matter what team you’re cheering for, check out our tips for tailgating in style.

YAY, the weekend’s here!

the chase is on.

Glitter Girls!

This past weekend I had the pleasure of working with the guys from Chase 54, an up-and-coming golf apparel line. (54 is a perfect score in golf and, let’s face it, we’re all chasing perfection right?) Trust me ladies, these guys know their stuff. From the state of the art fabrics, to the top notch production and design, it’s impeccable style at an affordable price. They pride themselves in being a line “for golfers, by golfers”. I dig it.

Here’s a behind the scenes look at their photo shoot this past weekend:

Time to get started!

How awesome are these colors?

Don’t worry, the socks weren’t in the shot!
Putting my steaming skills to good use (thanks, Laura!)

A few shots at Crystal Lake before the sun went down.

A HUGE thanks to the guys at C4 Belts for letting us use their belts in the shots.

What do you think, girls? Will your guys be wearing Chase 54?
