From L: Happy Thursday, Glitter Girls! Long time, no post. Sorry, but I’ve been BUSY…busy planning the best baby shower ever, that is!
As you know, J is expecting a precious baby boy in May. Her bridesmaids and I (with a little help from my sweet mother) showered the beautiful mom-to-be with a brunch at Cook Hall in the W Buckhead. Each one of us is so seriously excited to meet this little guy! Here are the deets and a few of our favorite photos:
Menu||all served family-style|deviled eggs|salmon tartare|jalapeno fritters|homemade ricotta on crostini|shrimp and grits|roasted cauliflower hummus|mimosas (most importantly!)|cupcakes
Flowers||hydrangeas|roses (courtesy of J’s sweet step-mother-in-law)
We’re not big crafters, but something about Valentine’s Day inspires us to actually MAKE something for our loved ones. These are our five favorite ideas for homemade cards and gifts. (Difficulty level: SUPER EASY)

J: My friends Maggie, Mary and I decided to take our girls night to the Atlanta Botanical Garden this week. Amazing decision. We cruised (while sipping wine, of course) and admired the super impressive sculptures. Love being a tourist in our own city. Here are my top five moments from the night:
Why don’t you invite a few friends over this weekend for cocktails and light appetizers? Here are two of our favorite recipes. (These also work if you’ve been asked to contribute something to your family or Friendsgiving meal this year. The second one travels well!)
Browned Butter + Sage Crostini
What You Need:
French baguette, sliced and toasted
Buffalo mozzarella, sliced thin
Fresh sage leaves
What You Do:
1. Butter slices of French baguette and toast under the broiler until golden. Set aside
2. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
3. In a small skillet melt butter over medium low heat. Add fresh sage leaves and cook until sage is crispy and butter begins to brown in bits on the bottom of the pan. (you may need to remove sage before butter is browned).
4. Top toasted bread with prosciutto and cheese. Bake at 375 until cheese begins to melt.
5. Remove from oven and spoon browned butter over crostini. Top each with a crispy sage leaf or two.
6. Serve while hot! Enjoy.
Pumpkin Seed Cheese Log
What You Need:
1 5oz log goat cheese/chevre
1/2 tsp canola or corn oil
3/4 cup raw pumpkinseeds
salt & pepper
3 tsbp pumpkinseed oil
crackers (we like sweet wheat crackers)
What You Do:
Let cheese come to room temperature. Place a small skillet over medium heat for 2 minutes; add canola or corn oil and pumpkinseeds. Toss for a minute, then season with salt and pepper. Once seeds have popped but are still green, transfer to a plate; let cool. Roll cheese in seeds to coat. Drizzle with pumpkinseed oil and serve with crackers.
We’re heading to Lake Oconee this afternoon for a MUCH needed weekend together. Here’s what the next 48 hours look like for us.
1. Cocktail: No boring wine glasses for us this weekend! L is bringing mason jars and paper straws to hold our cocktails. Stay tuned to see if we use J’s sparklers.
2. Appetizer: As J was cruising pinterest looking for an app to make for us this weekend, she came across this alternative to a full caprese salad. Easy to transport and perfect for us to munch on while getting ready. We had to graduate from Goldfish some time.
3. Pool Accessory: Everyone. Cross your fingers and toes that the rain holds out long enough to give us a pool day. We need it. And also this Sunnylife San Remo Beach Towel for lounging.
“So excited about April’s Birchbox! Let’s get into it!:
Atelier Cologne, Orange Sanguine.
I wasn’t too sure about this one just because I am not big on reeeeally citrus-y (that’s a word right?!) scents. But I was so wrong! It smells wonderful! And a big plus that I always look for in a scent? It lasts the whole day without needing to re-apply! Win-win right? This particular scent is very concentrated so you only need a little dab and you are good to go.
I LOVE anything Kiehl’s. AND since I am now in my last year of my 20’s (eek!) I have found myself starting to freak out about lines and wrinkles so I was so excited about this product. It is packed with vitamin C which apparently not only helps me kick colds to the curb but is great for smoothing fine lines and wrinkles. Yay!
Nexxus Youth Renewal Rejuvenating Elixer.
Okay, how did Birchbox know I wanted this?? As an avid flat-ironer, curling iron user, hair color-er, my hair is always in need of extra moisture! I may just have to purchase the full size on this one…
Mirenesse Glossy Kiss.
Lipstick pencils are my new obsession and this one is awesome! It is a mix between a lip stain and a creamy balm. Mine came in the perfect shade of red (called, “Flirty Kiss”) and I can’t wait to wear it out this weekend during my mini-getaway to San Diego! It glides on SO smooth and feels very moisturizing. Bonus: it can double as a cheek stain! I don’t know if I would use red for my cheeks, but the pink color they make (“Cheeky Kiss”) would be adorbs! The one downside? It’s not very long lasting on the lips. BUT it is the perfect little skinny size to fit in my clutch for re-application throughout the night!
Simple Revitalizing Eye Roll-on
Not only is this an amazing product at a great price that you can pick up at your local drugstore, but it really works! I just swipe it under each eye, let it absorb and go on with my morning beauty routine! It reduces puffiness AND softens. I love how it rolls on smooth and I think my favorite thing about it is that it doesn’t have any harsh perfume scent to it. Just clean and refreshing! It is just what I need when wedding planning has kept me up all night and I only get 4 hours of sleep!”
